MY STORY

I hail from a small city called Trivandrum aka Thiruvananthapuram situated in the beautiful southern state of India called Kerala (popularly known as God's own country!). After my schooling at Trivandrum, I moved to Chennai to do my Dual Degree program in Civil Engineering at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM). Five years at IITM gave me the much needed exposure to the outside world and introduced me to the fasicnating field of engineering and cutting edge technologies. After my graduation, I worked as a Data Scientist at a boutique analytics start-up called Tiger Analytics. Working at a start up for 5 years gave me the opportunities to get involved in different aspects of a consulting business as well as understand the application of machine learning in the real world. After the corporate stint, I wanted to spend more time in research, and hone my skillset in machine learning, with concentration in deep learning. I also wanted to go back to roots and apply this for Civil Engineering applications. And thus I started my journey to PhD and here I am, more determined that ever to pursue my dream!

My favourite past time is cooking and baking (and eating!!). Me and my husband are big time foodies and I love to cook whatever I try out. Recently, I have developed liking to creating new recipes and hence, a food blog with all my favorite new recipes is on the way!

Apart from cooking, I love reading fiction, watching sitcoms and playing board games with friends,  and solving puzzles and sudoku.
